LIFE CYCLE COSTS
A holistic view - development and production costs - must also include the disposal costs that arise later for ecologically produced products.
The best example of this is the ‘cheap nuclear power penny’ that everyone is led to believe, where the vast sums of development and research costs as well as incalculable disposal costs are often concealed and ignored.
UPCYCLING
In upcycling, waste products or other materials that are no longer used are processed into new products.
In contrast to downcycling, this form of recycling results in a material revaluation. The reuse or re-utilisation of existing materials reduces the consumption of raw materials.

The Ghanaian government wants to reduce national CO2 emissions by 15 per cent by 2030.
There is great potential in electromobility - but high acquisition costs, a lack of charging stations and a lack of financing options are just some of the many challenges. To support the transformation of Ghana's transport sector, Impact Hub Accra and Siemens Stiftung are implementing a joint pilot project. The aim is to establish electric cargo bikes and promote sustainable production in Ghana.
