Alternating between Accra, Ghana in West Africa and Nairoby, Kenya in East Africa
As a forward-looking and visionary initiative, “my-ecocamp EXPO Africa” will pioneer a new approach to presenting holistic ecological knowledge.
Unlike the usual conference venues such as exhibition centres or luxury resorts, we prefer a location where our target audience can prepare for their future. A campus site. Eco logical.
Both new and traditional career paths within holistic ecological living will be presented. Areas in which all our senses are engaged. Salutogenesis is, of course, also taken into account – that is, the most important aspect that defines us as human beings: the interplay of body, soul and spirit.
The pilot project my-ecocamp GHANA will therefore be presented. In addition to the my-ecocamp educational campus, the site will also feature areas for permaculture, medicinal plant and herb gardens, a health and research centre, event and exhibition spaces for showcasing local products, as well as bed and breakfast accommodation.
Job-matching zones and career areas, featuring representatives from retail, the trades, industry, universities and associations, offer young people the chance to discover the world of networking. This also helps young people to better identify where they see their own potential and future aspirations.
In cooperation with Didacta the trade fair for all educational perspective, Worldskills and European Bamboo EXPO

Promoting natural building materials as bamboo, clay and wood
BAMBOO
Thanks to its remarkable ability to sequester CO₂, bamboo makes a crucial contribution to the fight against climate change. It also regenerates soil, strengthens regional economic cycles and plays an increasingly important role in European strategies for climate-friendly land use.
Bamboo also proves its worth from a global perspective: in many countries of the Global South, it creates jobs, promotes sustainable development and enables the emergence of new, environmentally friendly industries – a true ‘superplant’ with a global impact.
Bamboo is playing an increasingly important role in a sustainable and climate-friendly economy. Whether as a building material, in furniture production or in the textile and paper industries – bamboo is increasingly establishing itself as a versatile and future-proof raw material.
WOOD
African timber species
From pinkish-grey to copper-coloured and dark brown – African timber species offer not only a wide range of diverse colours.
Their areas of application are also wide-ranging. Some African timber species, such as moabi and denya, are frequently used for interior and exterior construction. Tali wood is used for bridge construction, jetties or timber-framed buildings, as it can withstand very heavy loads. Similarly, African woods such as Iroko are suitable for stairs, furniture, parquet flooring or boat building.
What makes African timber species special is their resistance to pest and fungal infestation. Chemical wood preservatives to protect against fungi and insects are often unnecessary. Versatile, durable and suitable for a wide range of applications
CLAY
Clay is not only a building material that promotes good health, but also has the ability to absorb pollutants from water and the air.
Clay plasters regulate indoor humidity, provide sound insulation, store heat and absorb odours.
