ETHNO-MEDICINE
Ethnomedicine can be defined as “the study of how members of different cultures think about disease and organize themselves toward medical treatment and the social organization of treatment itself. Ethnomedical knowledge and practices may be held by a society or a subcultural group e.g., ethnic or professional group.
Ethomedical studies have shown that health-related behavior is informed by: people's conceptions of bodily functioning; perceptions of how medicines or treatment affect the body. Notions of risk of getting a disease and causal reasoning about illness.
